The lynx is a big cat that haunts the remote northern forests of North America, Europe, and Asia. Lynx are covered with beautiful thick fur that keeps them warm during frigid winters.  My dad and I saw a lynx in Idaho.

I am thankful for West Linn because all my friends live here. I like the bridges in West Linn. I also like the old fashioned fair and the Christmas parade. I also love the West Linn football team.

A Native American came to our school one of the things I learned is that Native Americans like to collect beads. Native Americans like to play lacrosse. Lacrosse is a  Native American sport. Cherokee is his tribe name. He told us 2 stories. He was wearing leather pants and a leather shirt. He also brought a drum.

Harpy Eagles are among the world’s largest and most powerful eagles. Their rear talons are about 3-4 inches long– the same size as a grizzly bear’s claws! Like many other birds of prey, Harpy Eagles continue to bring fresh green twigs and branches to the nest after the chick has hatched. Some researchers think this helps keep insects and parasites away and provides a cooler environment for the nestling. A female can weigh up to two times more than her mate.

 

 Marcus Mariota threw four touchdown passes in the first half of his first game playing for the Tennessee Titans. The only other rookie in history to throw for four touchdowns in a season opener (not in a half, mind you, but a full game) was Fran Tarkenton all the way back in 1961.

Ranger has been trained as a search-and-rescue dog, but can’t officially pass the test because he’s always getting distracted by squirrels during exercises. One day, he finds a mysterious first aid kit in the garden and is transported to the year 1850, where he meets a young boy named Sam Abbott. Sam’s family is migrating west on the Oregon Trail.  Ranger will continue to help them.  He is very good at finding things.

Many wolf pups don’t survive the first year. The ones that survive live for 3-13 years.

The Oregon Ducks are my favorite team I am going to tell you about them. Oregon is in the pack-12 and the Ducks arch rival is Oregon state and Washington Huskies. The Ducks are pretty good this year but last year the Ducks were way better. Last year the Ducks had Marcus Mariota, my great person.

Wolves live in group’s called pack’s. Wolves together  hunt, raise there young and protect their territory. Did you know wolves play hide and seek? It’s amazing to find out that wolves only live 12-13 years old.

The gray wolf is furry, big, tough and a ferocious hunter. It’s fur color is silvery, gray, brown, white or tan. A gray wolf’s tail is like a dog’s tail. The gray wolf has a good sense of smell. Here’s a picture of a gray wolf.
